Do you want to improve your running? Fancy getting fitter and faster for 2019? Keen to give interval sessions a go?

If your answers to these questions are yes, then Coach Lauren’s 6 week run programme is for you!

Starting with the Porthcawl parkrun (and breakfast!) on Saturday 5thJanuary, Coach Lauren will be offering two coached sessions a week for a period of 6 weeks. The aim of the programme is to increase athlete fitness and confidence, and to gradually introduce Pencoed Tri Club to the Bridgend Athletic Club Seniors sessions to create a sustainable, coached run training provision.

Lauren’s six-week programme is offered free to all Pencoed Tri Club members. Bridgend Athletic Club athletes are also welcome to join in! The programme is suitable for anyone who can jog/run 5km. All of the sessions will take place on open roads so it is every athletes responsibility to wear light, reflective clothing, be aware of the highway code and look out for each other’s safety.

Programme Schedule

Run 1: Coached interval session with Lauren Run 2: Coached interval session with Lauren Run 3: Athlete’s choice (a third run per week is recommended)
Saturday 5th Jan – Club Parkrun (to be used as a baseline)
Each Monday from the 7th Jan to Monday 11th Feb

Meet at 6.30pm at Bridgend AC Club House/ run track (CF31 4AD).

Each Thursday from 10th Jan to 14th Feb

Meet at 6pm outside the SAS Building on Waterton Industrial Estate (CF31 3XU).

Parkrun or easy, long run
Saturday 16th Feb – Club Parkrun (to be used as an improvement assessment)
